I have a big entry about movies and things.

This is not that big entry about movies and things. This should probably be a tweet? But omgz! The Ford American Idol commercial this week is a The Academy Is... song - "We've Got a Big Mess On Our Hands" - Which is awesome? But random. And... not much of an ad, unless Ford is moving into the street sweeper market.
I am going to put forth the idea that the message behind the Ford Fusion ad campaign is "Any idiot can drive a Ford." It started out somewhat more subtly, with Kris Allen assuring people that all you need to do is talk to use the fancy systems in the car.
In this ad, Tim gets out of his car, trips over a rope, and sets loose Rube-Goldberg-like chain of events on the street. Spilled paint, runaway fruit cart (fruit cart? really?), spraying water. And then Tim gets back in his car and drives off, leaving the mess behind him for everyone else to clean up.
(and rights to music continue to baffle me. @billbeckett: American Idol cast just sang Big Mess for a Ford commercial?! Awesome! Were muddy pickup trucks involved?")
