So, I wrote something else. (original post on lj)
edited and reposted on DW, 5/8/2009

This is the story that, like two weeks ago, I had an idea for that I really liked, and I wrote basically enough words to get me through the plot, and then I read back through and hated it.

But, I persevered! Added 2 1/2 more scenes, and then went back over it I don't know how many times, until I was thoroughly sick of it.

Cause, see, the problem is? They're not tortured. They're actually pretty happy. They have problems, because they're human, but they're pretty mundane. I'm definitely having a failure of imagination.

I've got at least one more story in the series that I want to tell, and then I think I'm going to detour to another fandom for a while, so I can maybe come back here and start over with a story where they have a more interesting dynamic. I think I could get behind a comedy of errors right now, or something that really starts with Matt working through the aftermath of the fire sale, rather than the wholesale repression I've been working with this far. Or an awesome triggering event for post-traumatic stress. Hmm.
