healingmirth: young cat looking up at camera (damn cat)
So, I have this cat, as you may have noticed. And because it's better for everyone if the cat doesn't try to eat the houseplants, the cat gets his own little pot of grass to nom.

So you plant the grass seed, and it sprouts, and it looks like this, basically:

like the little wheatgrass displays at smoothie places or health food stores.

And then the cat chews the top two inches off of it (he would make an excellent goat) and 2 hours later, it looks just like the grass in your lawn, all scraggly and whatnot.

And intellectually, I understand the structure of plants, and what happens when you slice off the tops of things that contain water, in general. But, like, emotionally, I am always annoyed at having to plant more grass seed because it is damn near impossible to keep cut grass alive and healthy indoors.
