So you know, when you're reading, and someone gets hurt and there's a line about them cradling their injured arm/hand? Yeah, I've never actually seen anyone do that - in real life or in tv or movies, so far as I remember - but I am totally on board with the concept.
The good news is, nothing is broken or significantly bruised, and the sharp pain that extended down my forearm was gone by the time I woke up the next morning. Now I just look like an idiot when I try to do something that involves two hands, or having an opposable thumb - ask me about my adventures in trying to open a not-particularly-sturdy zip-lock bag.
I'm also considering taping my thumb to my index finger, because, seriously, I am not used to being injured, and I have really, really bad instincts for avoiding things that are going to make me curse in pain. The good news is, I have a solid excuse to avoid my horrible beach league team for a week or two. The bad news is, that also means a solid reason why I shouldn't go play with the people I like, either.
In related news, while I was being lazy, I watched seasons 2 and 3 of America's Best Dance Crew. My grudge against MTV for abandoning music programming has been slightly abated by the fact that they have, like, every episode of everything up on their website. They have every episode of anything I'd want to watch, at least. Also, there was a preview (which was originally broadcast in, like, December) for some show called Take the Stage, I think. I was honestly not able to tell if it was reality - for MTV's definition of reality - or scripted. It was somewhere between The Hills and the level of acting you'd expect to see in student film.
But I digress. Season 3 had the first all-female crew in the finals - Beat Freaks - and they were up against Quest Crew, which has the SYTYCD guys. Totally worth watching, even if it isn't what you might call a productive use of time.
( compilations of Quest Crew's and Beat Freaks' performances behind the cut )
Off to play courier for a bit, and then back to continue with the wordiness!
