healingmirth: Jayne from Firefly: "time for some thrilling heroics" (thrilling heroics)
I finally went to see The Losers today. I sort of planned to see Iron Man 2 as well, while I was out, but about halfway into The Losers I realized that I was going to want to roll around in it like catnip for a while. Love, love, love. It's just about everything I want in a blockbuster action movie, and I don't have the faintest clue about the source material, so there was no danger of me walking out and bitching about what Key Thing they screwed up. (And that's another reason why I'm taking a pause before Iron Man. I haven't decided whether I want to read spoilery reviews from the fen or not, yet.)

I will say, though, that I was not impressed by the previews. The Expendables, which features almost every action star ever, and Takers which appears to star a bunch of hip-hop/R&B guys hoping to break through and every second-tier actor hoping to make a comeback. And Zoe Saldana. Hi, Zoe! This is not to say that I'm not going to see either of the movies, but I can't remember ever thinking "this is a bad trailer" as opposed to "this is a trailer for a bad movie." (The other previews were for MacGruber, Lottery Ticket, and Splice, which were notsomuch my scene, but were at least good trailers)

Preview I did not see in the theater, but found while I was looking for the others to link - The Sorcerer's Apprentice (that's a new trailer - the original one from Decemeber is here) A lot of the footage is the same, but Nic Cage spends a lot more time on screen giving us Useful Information. I'm still super-excited for this, and continue to be super-excited for anything Jay Baruchel is in, which will hopefully be more Dragon and less Fanboys now that he's on a roll.
