blah de blah blah

Was sick all day yesterday, and reasonably miserable when not asleep, and it wasn't until late last night that I realized my cat was totally avoiding me. On the one hand, I'm thankful that he wasn't being a pest, but I could have used the cuddles. Today, still sick but not feverish, and he's all over me like white on rice.

My boss is sort of hilarious in his lack of empathy. Whenever I find out that someone at work is sick, I basically count on whatever they were working on being pushed back a week. When I sent him the e-mail that I was out sick yesterday morning, his reply was "of course you should stay home and rest!" and then his next e-mail had three new assignments and a meeting request for "If you get so bored you can’t stand it, but don’t feel up to coming in." Hokay.

I want to write treats for people who've shown up on the yuletide pinch hit list, but all my idea are ridiculous sprawling massive epics that I probably wouldn't write if I had a whole month. Sigh.
