par for the course

After many months of mild despair over having lost the thinger I need to get the video off my DVR and onto a hard drive, I finally stopped by Best Buy to see what they stocked and bought a new one that I hoped would work. Good news! It does, and so now I can delete the three hours of tennis that I don't need, but was keeping because of the adorable minute of promo at the top. Ditto some NHL playoff game or other and a handful of minutes in the middle thereof.

A few hours later, I went up to my parents' house for dinner and to clear out some stuff that my mom wanted cleared out, and found the thing I had lost. And all of its bits and pieces. And the box it came in. Exact same model I bought this afternoon.

The software DVD, however, has been in my house for at least 2 years, so you can see how I might have expected differently.
