healingmirth: Chekov from ST:AOS: "Can do that" (can do)
I did something to my hip, like three weeks ago, possibly while running, and it still freaking hurts, unabated. Fairly certain it's muscle/ligament/whatever, but it doesn't hurt all the time, or even all the times with the same range of motion, so I'm baffled, because when it does hurt, it hurts exactly as much. So I am doing less doing of things, and more watching of them, accordingly.

Resurrection:
I just burned through the eight episodes, and I'm glad that was renewed. Honestly the only reason I put off watching it for so long was that I was afraid it'd be as infuriating as I found Under the Dome. I'll be glad that's coming back, whenever it happens. Thanks, whoever ([personal profile] alchemise?) mentioned in passing that they liked it.

Question, though, and I'm only saying this because of... every church I have ever attended, even in passing, in my whole life. Was anyone else confused by the apparent lack of music, by which I mean choir/choir loft/organ/whatever in that otherwise quite large and seemingly well-to-do church? And the church service starts whenever the minister walks out. Ok, cool. It looks like there were hymnals in the pews (although, maybe only bibles? I sort of care, but not enough to go back and check.) And maybe a piano in the corner by those stairs.

It's such a silly thing to throw me out of it, but it just seemed off for a series that otherwise very much has a focus on the congregation, what with the pastor's wife, and Helen and... yeah.

And also all the painting. Just, suuuuuper pristine, that church.

Turn:
I meant to watch, but somehow I forgot to start and suddenly it's six weeks later and whoops. It looks like they're running a marathon next weekend? Because heaven forbid I don't constantly have a backlog of about a million episodes.

Penny Dreadful:
I also caught the behind-the-scenes preview and I'm intrigued, but frankly not looking to pick up another "authentically" poorly-lit show, where I spend all my time wondering who was speaking, or who died. I also came away with the impression that the sex scenes were filmed in rooms that are perhaps literally on fire. There's no way they had that many candles or gas lamps handy in the bedroom or library or wherever they're getting it on.

This doesn't even count having all this season and a good chunk of the last of Person of Interest that I've moved from my DVR to my hard drive. Someday.

I've also got all the episodes of Believe stacked up, but I don't think I care.

Competitions!

American Ninja Warrior returns soonish (I do enjoy a show that people actually train for) so there's some mindless TV to sort mail to. Also, SYTYCD! About which I know precisely nothing, if there are things to know yet about the upcoming season.

And I don't think I've mentioned Jim Henson's Creature Shop Challenge which concludes tomorrow night. Again with the thing where I enjoy watching people be good at things, and most of the competitors are really adorably geeky about all things Henson, in addition to being generally much better at making things than I am. I think all the episodes are available on the SyFy website, possibly with confirmation of cable subscription, if your interest is piqued.

Oh, and Deadliest Catch has sucked me back in. I think I missed last season? It's hard to tell, anymore.
