Commentators for tonight's Maria Sharapova v. Maria Kirilenko match just mentioned that Kirilenko broke off her engagement to Alex Ovechkin*, and my first thought was 'surely there is fic about this' but I only care enough to blog about it, not enough to open AO3 on my phone when in the middle of a packed crowd. So, yeah. That's my life.

I sent a message to a friend a few days ago that said "Hockey starts October 8th!" and then "...that's not actually very soon... Boo."

*news to me, but not news to actual Caps or Ovi fen, I'm sure, probably not even news to members of broader Hockey RPF, but I stopped browsing the hockey RPF tag when I got sick of Kaner/Tazer fic.
