catching up on Suits

Okay, so I figured out (someone may have mentioned this? If so, thanks!) that season two (and one!) of Suits is streaming for free on Amazon Prime, and I can hook amazon instant video up to my TV, so I'm finally watching the Suits episodes that either I mistakenly deleted or my DVR ate.
And then I'm maybe going to go reread all of the post-season 1 Suits fic.
But more to my immediate point, I just finished episode 5 "Break Point" aka the one with the tennis player and also some other Events.
Did we already know that Harvey's dad was a... Jazz Trumpet player? I don't remember anything about his family from season one. I think the existence of a brother was already canon before Donna's commentary in 2.1 about his mother and brother, but I'm pretty sure any interaction or detail that I "remember" is fanon.
When Donna is cleaning out her desk, and the last thing she put in her box was the cheapo can opener. A couple episodes back when Harvey wakes Mike up and he blurts "its a can opener" - is that just a Thing that I don't remember?
I am not touching the WTH of Harvey going to all extremes to save Mike and letting Donna walk until I see some more of the season. I am enjoying the direction they're going with Louis, mostly, and not hating the rest of it. Also by some miracle I managed to not cry at the apparent demise of Louis's cat, so there's that.
