In my defense, I really didn't think I was going to be writing anything, so I didn't pay any attention to the sorts of detail that I'd usually pay attention to.

When do we think CA:TWS takes place? Based on anything you like - weather, foliage, clothing, in-movie media that clearly states the month and date?



There are some dates assigned at this wiki - http://marvelcinematicuniverse.wikia.com/wiki/2014 but it seems like it might just be pinning the end of the story to the movie release date, which is maybe taking the "real time"/" present day" comments in interviews a bit too literally.

I would have said fall - early April would definitely be cherry blossom time, which is clearly not when they filmed it. Could be May. Clothing choices say fall to me. Isn't summer, through August, in D.C. fairly unbearable? So I would think no way are any of those tourists going to be wearing long sleeves or pants, even if they're dressing for museum air conditioning. Maybe Steve just likes jackets. I'm sure he can wear whatever he feels like, no matter the weather.

I also don't remember how late the leaves change in D.C. End of October?

I've only seen it once (and wasn't watching for the type of detail you're needing) but yes, fall seems right to me as well, as I have an impression of a certain silvery/overcast quality to the light.

Thanks! I don't know why I'm so stuck on this, it hardly matters for the silly thing I wanted to write, but I'd so much rather say, like, November instead of "two months later" without being wrongity wrong wrong.

Heh, I can understand that impulse -- and that fear. I usually chicken out and leave it vague, though, unless there's a need to tie it into a holiday.
