I don't think I've written a single word of anything fiction-like in about a week. This should not be a problem, because I went, oh, 20 years without writing a word of fiction. The problem is, I've got 12...things... in google docs, in stages of completeness that range from a couple sentences about an idea to nearly-complete stories that I got bored with, all of which I started in the past 2 months.

So, snippets!

Near the beginning of the slight-AU Live Free or Die Hard fic where Matt lives in the city before the movie,

Despite John’s best efforts, the kid refuses to become part of the white noise of the city. Mrs. Hanrahan in 1B, the Latino kids from across the street who are always running around on afternoons and weekends, the handful of businessmen that John recognizes on sight, they all conform to expectations and are dismissed from conscious consideration. Patterns are John’s bread and butter as a detective, and the skills that serve him so well at work bleed over into his private life as well. Anomalies represent trouble – unexpected noises, vehicles out of place, people changing their routines.

If the kid even has a routine, it’s more complex than John’s casual observation can pick up. The only place John sees him with any regularity is when he’s arguing good-naturedly with Carl at the news stand, with coffee or soda, (randomly, regardless of the temperature) or a candy bar in hand, but never magazines or newspapers.
Come on, man, you know better than to buy into this shit, even if you have to stare at it all day. All that glossy, pre-packaged…

Once, John sees him a good mile away from his normal turf, gesticulating wildly at some kid – an actual kid, a child – half his size outside a comic shop.

That Eliot Spencer/Abby Sciuto prompt that I claimed from the Little Black Dress from Oklahoma ficathon

When she sends messages to her parents, sometimes she scans the pictures from the postcards to send along to them.

She gets correspondence from lots of people - mostly e-mail, a few letters. Eliot is one of the few who sends her pictures, and they'll have to be worth their thousand words, because they are always blank but for her address and a postmark which doesn't always match the image on the flip side.

The only thing I have even started for my [livejournal.com profile] story_lottery claim. I think it might be Rodney/Radek, and probably requires reference to both Katie Brown and John. And maybe Keller. And I haven't seen a minute of Atlantis since the series finale.

Rodney has this theory about relationships. Rather, he has lots of theories about relationships, as he has lots of theories about everything, but he has this particular theory about his relationships, that it is his understanding of physics that defeats him.

It is statistically unlikely, improbable to the point of approaching impossibility, that two randomly-moving objects will collide and then move in the same direction following their collision.

And a bunch of porn snippets, many of which I got bored of solidly in the middle of the sexin'. I'm not sure what concerns me the most, that I'm writing boring smut, or that I'm bored by smut.
