So, for those of you who may not be familiar, OKCupid is an online dating site that matches people up based on how they answer questions. It's alternatively cutesy and snarky, and their main gimmick is that many of the questions are submitted by users. (My sort-of-favorite result of this is that some of the questions are math and science questions, such as "Which is bigger? A) the sun b) the Earth" or "What is the next number in this sequence: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8...")

My attention is being held by a different dating site at the moment, but I just got this e-mail from OKCupid:

We are very pleased to report that you are in the top half of OkCupid's most attractive users. The scales recently tipped in your favor, and we thought you'd like to know.

How can we say this with confidence? We've tracked click-thrus on your photo and analyzed other people's reactions to you in QuickMatch and Quiver.

. . .

Your new elite status comes with one important privilege:

You will now see more attractive people in your match results.

This new status won't affect your actual match percentages, which are still based purely on your answers and desired match's answers. But the people we recommend will be more attractive. Also! You'll be shown to more attractive people in their match results.

. . .

Suddenly, the world is your oyster. Login now and reap the rewards. And, no, we didn't just send this email to everyone on OkCupid. Go ask an ugly friend and see.

I need someone to tell me whether I should go see A-Team or not. It seems to have the same mixed reviews that The Losers had, and I don't know what to do with that.
I got a 40% off up to two boxed sets coupon from Borders, and I'm leaning towards the complete sets of Oz and Sports Night. Or possibly neither, because I tend to forget about these things. I might go for seasons two and three of NCIS. Suggestions?

I can't see the A-Team until Thursday, but I'll give you a report. I've only seen one review, by someone I knew would love it... and they did.

And I loved The Losers (a present for you), even though there were issues, so while I'm perfectly happy to review the A-Team, it may not actually be helpful to you determining whether or not you want to see it.

Oh crap - I didn't respond to this until after the weekend. :(

Um, I just had the one reaction post (I LOVED it, and saw it twice in the theater), so I'm sorry that wasn't more helpful!

There's not too much to be said about it; I enjoyed it immensely, loved the same characters I loved in the series (Murdoch and Face) and busted a gut laughing, sometimes during big action sequences! (And not because they were awful, either!)

I hope you didn't delay seeing it because you were waiting for a more comprehensive review. :(

You're welcome!

Oh, also, I do feel like I should bring up the fact that there was a bit of Gandhi-fail which could also be seen as religion-fail, but I knew where it was all coming from (and where it was leading, as soon as the first inklings came up), so it didn't bother me too much.

There was a strong, smart female character (even if she wasn't exactly a lead) and the (villains) were both smart (or perhaps well-connected and techno-capable) and stupid, in particular ways which I liked. I don't want to spoil it more than that, really - you'll know what I mean if you see it.

Overall, good characterization (a lot more depth of character for B.A., which was nice), hilarious dialogue, tremendous action. I give it a big thumbs up.

*waves hello*

I want to tell OKCupid to suck it. Ask an UGLY friend? *grumbles under breath* Though I do like the idea of those random questions.
