things I did today

- remembered that I forgot to wish
kate a happy birthday yesterday. Happy Birthday! Feel free to name a forfeit.
- wrote some porn on the train into the city. My phone has now added cock, dildo and shackles to its vocabulary. You're welcome, phone, and I hope you have a more interesting life because of it.
- saw a light bulb explode for absolutely no good reason
- was thankful that I was several feet away from said lightbulb
- eavesdropped on some guy talking about his Facebook drama
- took the subway to Brooklyn
- shortly thereafter stepped foot on Brooklyn pavement for the first time in my life
- while dressed sort of like a hippie because that's what I was wearing before I realized I was going to Brooklyn today. It was Brooklyn Heights though, which almost doesn't count.
- listened to some other dude pontificate about elevator safety to his... coworker? To his other dude in a suit, at any rate. While they stood around awkwardly, right in front of me, presumably waiting for someone.
- saw someone on the subway who looked disconcertingly like Michael Urie (of Ugly Betty and more recently The Tempermentals), but was probably not in fact Michael Urie. Probably. Either way, a pleasant-looking and charming distraction on the train to Brooklyn.
- was stalked by the nearly-feral orange tabby that lives next door. Apparently the belief that my long skirt is a wild animal that requires killing is a belief not solely held by my cat.
- did some work-related things
- walked across the Brooklyn Bridge at sunset
- took cameraphone pictures of the Brooklyn Bridge at sunset
- saw a man with a giant snake between his legs. That is not a euphemism.
- discovered that the walk home from the train station at night is in fact very, very dark. Safe, but still dark.
