So I was sitting on the floor in the kitchen, as you do when you're waiting for a pizza in a very hot oven to settle somewhere between melty and burnt, scanning down ye olde reading page on my phone, and I find this entry via [community profile] metaquotes translations from the feline: the flying mouse affair. Absolutely literally hilarious, had to take a break about ten lines in because I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard and I couldn't see to read. Is possible that you need to be a cat person to appreciate it, but I hope not.
And on that note, Shakespeare! No, really!

When I was in high school, my dad bought Kenneth Branagh's Much Ado about Nothing, and I watched it I don't know how many times, but it was a lot.

For some reason, there are a few lines that stuck with me, and pop into my head at the oddest times, unprompted by anything I can point to.

(I haven't seen another production of the play, but I assume these are non-standard interpretation. Or, I don't know. Maybe they are "standard" readings, but it's not what I see in the text.)

My favorite is Benedick's "Love me! Why? It must be requited!" (as opposed to "Love me! Why, it must be requited") but the one that I find in my head all the damn time is Dogsberry's "Let them be opinioned," when Verges interjects "Let them be! In the hands!"
Er, and my druid is almost level 80. Which means that hopefully I can let my WoW account lapse very, very soon without having that niggling feeling that I left something unfinished.

Kenneth Branagh's Much Ado about Nothing

♥ I love that movie - the actors just nailed it and the play is so much fun anyway. Not to mention it's so gorgeously shot.
