healingmirthSo, my parents are republicans. I sort of always knew that, I guess? My dad, for sure, ticks off many of the boxes - including the slightly narrow-minded and at any rate unexamined privilege that's so popular these days, but so totally not the Christian one - but my mom is a social worker. I keep expecting her to agree with me on things, and she keeps... not.
She's moderate-ish, and I'm relatively sure she voted for Obama, and probably for Clinton, but still, identifies as republican. Luckily for family harmony, my parents have lived in the same Blue state for 20 years, and it's fairly certain to remain Blue regardless of which way they vote, so I don't need to ostracize myself by yelling at them like a teenager, because I am the first to admit that my political leanings are not much more well-reasoned, but they are much more strongly-held.
Also, they both think Romney is a twit.
