Have I already told you the story of how I bought my dad a bunch of dvds for Christmas last year, and by September or so, they'd all been returned to me, unopened and therefore unwatched? You could technically say regifted, but definitely just returned. The typical situation was "someone gave us this carafe, would you like it?" And I say okay, and it shows up with season one of Sons of Anarchy or whatever.

So this year I said no DVDs, self, and then I was at the mall and they had Burn Notice and The Bourne Legacy, and I caved.

Anyway, victory! Dad and I just watched the first three episodes of Burn Notice. It will probably be a long time before I watch the season through, but I just taught Dad how to rip DVDs so he can watch them on his tablet, so maybe not. Any warnings? (like of the "you are going to be so mad if you watch the S1 finale and don't have S2 handy" variety, or doldrums worth pushing through, etc.)

Also, somehow I never mentioned Justified to him (unlikely but possible) so that is headed his way as soon as I find my DVDs. New Justified in two weeks! ~\o/~

Burn Notice season finales all have pretty big cliffhangers, but even bigger are their mid-season cliffhangers. Those ones always make me freak out, but with the DVDs you don't have to worry about waiting! And there are some slow parts in each season, but it's more scattered episodes than longer stretches.
