healingmirth: Brian from The Breakfast Club, looking cool (breakfast club)
I was going to make an entire post about getting sucked into watching The Superstars and how Terrell Owens is a drama magnet, and Joanna Krupa - who I'm not sure I'd heard of before last week - is a total prima donna and deserved to get stuck with him and then kicked off. I managed to tear myself free of watching Wipeout last season, but I don't think I'm strong enough to resist all of the summer programming. And, it gets better! Someone got injured, and so T.O. and Joanna are back this week. Drama!

I'm totally going to watch this every week (am watching it as I type this). Yes, I am wallowing in my shallowness. Is that possible?

I'm going to see Star Trek in IMAX sometime this week. With a maybe-date. So I'm going to try to keep my squee to a publicly acceptable level.

I went to see Transformers 2, sort of by accident. (I went to pick something up from Best Buy, and there was a movie theater in the parking lot, and the movie started in 10 minutes.) Now, I really, really loved the first Transformers. I will fully admit that I switched my brain off to any concern about Characters Who Were Not Named in the Credits, because, seriously, it's a Michael Bay movie, and everything else must give way in the face of needing to blow things up.

The sequel was different, as you'd expect. I haven't read any interviews about the movie or reviews or whatnot, so I have no idea what their intention was, but it seemed like they were determined to write a different sort of movie (with broad and not-entirely-successful comedy), while simultaneously blowing up bigger things. spoilers, in the most literal sense that I talk about plot points )
