Cha-cha Trek: the next generation
May. 11th, 2010 01:58 amWhen I say I loved Dancing With the Stars tonight, what I actually mean is that two of the routines might as well have been mined from my brain: Nicole and Derek dancing foxtrot to Michael Buble, and Evan Lysacek playing an android.
I was wondering tonight, and since I'm too lazy to check wikipedia, I'm just going to put it here. Has there ever been a musician on DWTS? So not counting Nicole, Kelly Osbourne, Whatsername the Cheetah Girl, that other girl from High School Musical, Lance Bass, and whoever else is in that niche that I'm forgetting. Basically, I'm looking for someone from a band with instruments, or some artist who's primarily known for playing an instrument. I can't remember *why* I wanted to know that now, but it was very important at the time.
Two more weeks until SYTYCD premieres! Apparently Mia Michaels is taking Mary Murphy's place as a permanent judge, which makes me very sad. This is mostly because she's a very critical judge, and I thought the panel really went in a good direction adding Adam and his actual useful critique. Also, as happy as I was to let Mary go in favor of a rotating third judge, I have just now realized that leaves them without a proper ballroom judge. I'll continue to sort-of miss Mia's choreography, but I'm sure she'll do some of the group routines.
I may be becoming addicted to When I Was 17 on MTV. This week's was Ludacris, Jillian Michaels, and Pete Wentz. In some of the pictures, Luda and Pete look like they haven't aged a day, whereas Jillian looks like everyone else with big hair in the early 90s, so thankfully, she does look like a grownup now. Pete's interview was filmed in the midst of his beard + weird hair phase a month or two back, and I am so glad he's over that, but it fit right in with the badness of his high school hair. Blond dreads, Pete? Really?
