healingmirth: Delahoy from the Unusuals, unimpressed (unusuals - delahoy)
There's a DJ I follow on my more-or-less RL twitter account, who tweets sort of the randomest assortment of stuff, usually foursquare check-ins and links to articles about a mishmash of politics and music and I think sports.

(I'm mostly following him out of a sense of obligation, since I tweeted something at him like two years ago and he followed me in response. Figuring out social norms on the internet is hard, yo.)

One of his most recent was Panic! At The Disco Drummer Drops Off Tour which is sad no matter who it is, but then I realized that in the two years since I'd stopped paying attention I'd also totally combined Panic's lineup change with MCR's, and that "drummer" is co-main dude Spencer Smith. And it's for addiction rehab. So, nope, that wasn't just a regrettable stumbling block on the tour, but a serious problem for a guy who's been more or less in the public eye for, what, close to ten years? Yikes.

Also, not necessarily Brendan's fault that he didn't know what to say to his friend struggling with addiction, but... dude. Welcome to being a grownup. Learn to locate resources. Sad.

I just saw an ad for Ironside ( http://www.nbc.com/ironside/ ) which looks... promising?

eta :
Ironside's personal life is noticeably spicier than it was on the old show, too.

"What David told me is every injury is unique, and everybody is different depending on where it affects your spinal cord," Underwood said. "So, yes, in Ironside's case, he is able."

So, there's that.

This is probably largely restricted to the US, and to my sort of particular subset of the densely populated suburban parts of it, but feel free to chime in if you have thoughts.

Cats: In an age of people who move a fair bit and are too busy checking facebook to learn anything about their actual neighbors - when is it a good idea to try to lure/trap/take to the vet what might be a lost or only slightly feral cat, but might also be the outdoor cat of someone who lives two streets over?

In the last three days, I've seen two different unknown-to-me cats walk across the parking lot very late at night. I know that the neighbors who back up to my property have cats that are indoor/outdoor. These are not the cats that I know they have. Someday, maybe even this summer, I am going to make the effort to meet them and find out how many cats they actually have, and when they're typically outside. (I've heard them calling for and/or worrying over cats in the past, so I'm assuming they're some* type of responsible pet owner, but unsure which* type.)

I don't really have a sufficiently sheltered spot to put food out if I wanted to go all in feeding/trapping feral cats in general, but there isn't really any foot traffic in the parking lot, so I'm pretty sure I could catch the attention of a cat that was inclined to domesticity. The question is whether its likely to cause more worry to cat owners (or attract the ire of its owner for interfering) than it's worth to the cats.
