Until literally 5 minutes ago when I saw a random Gilmore Girls gif, I had no idea that Rory's boyfriend Dean was played by Jared Padalecki. How it is possible that I didn't know this, I couldn't tell you. I loved that show, and pretty much everyone in it, but it would appear that Jared fell prey to my occasional inability to tell white dudes with brown hair apart. There are just a lot of white dudes with brown hair, okay? And yet, I have a really clear mental image of Jess, and I'd totally stopped watching by that point...

Lone Ranger comes out on DVD tomorrow! So I can get right on not buying that. The commercial that just played made it appear that it was some epic story about (battling?) railroad tycoons or somwthing. Until Crazy Johnny Depp walked onscreen. Solid marketing choice, that.

Hee. My mum loves Gilmore Girls and loves Dean, to the point where she asked me if the actor was in any other shows. I unfortunately had to break it to her that watching Jared's other show was not a good idea. She's even more of a scaredy-cat than I am.

Awww... maybe he'll get a buddy-cop show or something if SPN ever wraps. Almost all of his movies have been horror, too :( I could do SPN if I had the time, but the movies, oh hell no.

I saw that same Lone Ranger ad and was equally confused. I kept wondering why I couldn't remember a movie about the building of the transcontinental railroad... and then Johnny Depp showed up.

I'm sure there's another example of a trailer campaign that did a 180 like that, but I can't think of one. It's too bad they didn't spend their money on that train movie!
