If the writers of Turn had tried to craft the single scene most likely to make me nope out of the series, I'm not sure they could have done better than adultery and animal harm. With some bonus over the top editing. I actually said, "alright, I get it," out loud at the TV.

It's about war, and spying, and set over 200 years ago, so I'm trying not to be too prissy about it. High stakes, passions, villains, gotta break some eggs to make an omelet, yadda, yadda, yadda. But seriously, dudes, I could have done without.

Also, news flash: Simcoe continues to be the worst.

Other than that, the season has been pretty good, as a whole, and I thought the rest of this episode was very well done. I'm not sure how much I'd recommend it as a way to spend your time vs, idk, Game of Thrones or whatever else the kids are watching these days, but I can say that it's never left me wishing that I had that hour of my life back.

It's been hard to know what to expect from one episode to the next because there are so. many. characters. (Hey there Aldis Hodge. How's it going?) Just when I thought that surely they were done introducing people, this close to the end of the season, nope! Have some more family members and give them speeches, too.

Jamie Bell also continues to be pretty great, as expected. I'll be interested to see how they wrap this up and what they'd be able to make of a second season.
