Yuletide recs! Where does the time go?
For me! <3 I was so, so tickled to get a WILTY RPF story of my very own. Seriously. So happy.
I DID Lie To You (But Not About <3ing U) (7691 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Would I Lie To You? RPF
Rating: Explicit
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Charlie Brooker/David Mitchell
Characters: David Mitchell, Charlie Brooker, Lee Mack, Rob Brydon, Sarah Millican, David Harewood
Additional Tags: aliens made them not do it, Bad Sex
Summary:
David Mitchell's tiny, insignificant, absolutely-not-a-problem crush on Charlie Brooker takes a turn for the absurd after a Would I Lie To You episode.
Bookmarker's Notes:Funny and sweet and hot.
The best part of Mitchell's PoV for me in fic is the comparison between what he thinks and what he says, and giving him a telepathic link to Brooker just turns that up to 11.
For other people!

Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: MASH (TV)
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce, B.J. Hunnicutt
Bookmarker's Notes:
Really lovely story of BJ reconnecting with Hawkeye after the war - lots of beautifully quiet moments between them, and a charming ensemble intro.

Beaker's sure there's some kind of heartwarming moral in all this, but all he wants to do is get through this safe, sane, and intact. The Muppets may have other plans.
Bookmarker's Notes:Beaker POV! Really great, heartfelt, cautious Beaker POV, and all the beautifully rendered joy and love you'd expect from the rest of the ensemble.
The Way of the World (8652 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Smokin' Aces (2006)
Rating: Mature
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Hollis Elmore/Richard Messner
Characters: Hollis Elmore, Richard Messner
Additional Tags: Post-Canon, Bounty Hunters, Partners to Lovers
Summary:
“He used to be a cop,” is how Dupree used to introduce him, like it gave him bonafides. Like he hadn’t burnt out after two years riding in a black and white and been a dead man walking for the other five. That time of his life was a blur of long nights, longer weeks, and nothing but the ugliest sides of ugly fucking cities. Vegas isn’t much better than LA, but he prefers it. Vegas knows her tits are fake.
Now he’s the one doing the introductions. “He used to be a Fed,” he gets to say, and next to him Richard smiles in the way that makes people wonder what it is that made him leave the Bureau.
Bookmarker's Notes:The extremely satisfying story and eventual happy ending these dudes deserved for surviving the events of the movie. Great dry pov character.
I really thought I might write this sort of story for Ceares someday, because I loved the prompt so much. I even poked at it a bit this year until I saw there was a Smokin' Aces story in the archive. Hooray!

Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: ESPN FC World Cup 2014 RPF
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Michael Ballack/Alexi Lalas
Characters: Michael Ballack, Alexi Lalas, Taylor Twellman
Summary:
Alexi Lalas doesn't understand social nicety or personal space, nor would he know an admission of defeat if it clobbered him in the face. In a way, it reminds Michael of himself.
The only thing I know about these dudes was the few minutes of World Cup commentary that I watched and this tweet
I really liked this - fair warning - most of the way through. It ends on a sliiightly sour note for me, because while I would have been perfectly happy with dudes hooking up and blithely moving on, or dudes hooking up and discovering ~something more~ the characters seemed not on the same page as each other at the ending. I even went back to read it again to see if I was missing subtle repressed feelings cues. IDK. Maybe it's just me, and if it isn't, I can change it in my head.
