So, in the preview for this season of Teen Wolf, Deaton says, "I'm starting to wonder if the rules to our supernatural world aren't as rigid as I once thought. Or maybe someone's trying to change those rules."

Yes. Yup. His name is Jeff Davis, right? We all get that by this point? Which is why it took me like two months to get around to starting the season.

I half wanted to go on a rant about the value of doing creative work within constraints, but whatever. You do you. Change the rules whenever you get bored. That's cool.

And whatever the deal is with the Mystery Antagonists this season, am I the only one who just constantly thinks he's ripping off Doctor Who when they show up onscreen?

I am so here for Lydia/Parrish, though, omg.

And Stiles doesn't know what "regression to the mean" means? Really. Also chimera is a totally new concept. Right.

And why is... Yeah, no. I'm just going to stop expecting his narrative choices to make sense to me.

Now I'm picturing him looking in the mirror saying, "I am the alpha. I have always been the alpha!" Maybe not yelling it. He doesn't strike me as a yeller, at least.

I'm not up on the show this season, so I don't know about the Mystery Antagonists, but Davis definitely changes the rules on a regular basis! Sometimes from one episode to the next. Seriously, that show has the most non-existent bible of any I've ever followed and I say that as someone who used to watch a lot of soap operas.

Well now I'm grateful that we're not getting Next week on Teen Wolf: Derek Hale reappears and is suddenly played by a totally different dude who only vaguely matches the casting call description.

I was honestly mostly watching for Stilinski family tidbits, in case I ever go back to the futurefic I was writing, but should that ever happen, I think I'm just going to disclaimer it AU from, like, season 1.
