...and whoever is playing the Patriots

healingmirthIt has just occurred to me that my irrational hatred of the New England Patriots is emblematic of What Is Wrong With America, or some version of it.
I'm not much of a Fan of any team or sport, but from what I know of the Pats, they are a well-disciplined, incredibly hard-working, polite (at least off the field), and at least somewhat humble team. It should not be a bad thing that they win. They should be an example for the frequent mess that is professional athletics to look up to (at least if you neglect that whole cheating coaching staff thing). Hard work should be rewarded, even if they have the charm of a wet mop. it is mean-spirited of me to wish that their perfect season stops short of the Super Bowl.
I still want them to lose.
