The Office: Innappropriate. Thank you.

It was bound to happen eventually...
Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to mourn the passing of Jim's imaginary brother Jon. I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that I like Jim's relatives in fanon a whole lot better than his canon ones.
But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's talk about the brilliance of the cold open.
1) "Dave" - better or worse than the three hole punch version of Jim?
2) Is Angela wearing the same costume?
3) I choose to interpret Pam's commentary on her costume to be an homage to Eddie Izzard's bit about Hitler choosing Chaplin's mustache.
4) There had better be an outtake somewhere with Andy Bernard bursting into song. Maybe The Rum Tug Tugger.
5) I really expected better of Kelly. The first time I watched the scene, I wasn't really listening, and missed who she said she was, and was totally going to guess Paris Hilton except the hair was wrong. I really would have expected a better Carrie out of her. Maybe she's still suffering from the diet.
6) For a Ryan/Kelly moment, how awesome is it that they both dressed up like characters who they would really, truly, like to be every day in real life?
6a) How frightening is it that the same can be said of Creed?
7) Three people all in the same costume with appropriate varying degrees of success = total win. Wish Dwight hadn't had to jump on a modern mainstream bandwagon to do it though :(
Am totally not going to comment on the heartbreakingness of Michael/Holly.
I don't know what I'm either expecting or hoping for out of Jim and Pam this season. I feel like there needs to be either happiness or tension. I actually really loved their day being out of sync. I'm not sure what we learned from this episode beyond "Jim and Pam are awesomer than everyone else" which is, of course, true.
Andy/Dwight interview = pale imitation of Dwight/Jim interview in Drug testing, y/n?
I think I need to watch more subpar sitcoms, so that I can properly appreciate The Office, cause I think my standards for originality are too high now.

Also, so I went to look up the origin of that quote for the cut tag, since I only knew it second-hand through its omnipresence on the interweb. And according to the power of imdb (and The Internet Movie Script Database, which I didn't even know existed), the full text, is, "I felt a great disturbance in the Force... as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened."
Seriously, Lucas? Two suddenlies? No wonder everyone rewords it.
