In more-or-less reverse chronological order:
Just got back from Game Night, where I more or less sucked at Apples to Apples, but then my teammate and I kicked all sorts of butt in Trivial Pursuit (Pop Culture 2nd Edition, I think. One of the DVD ones) despite our complete inability to answer Sports and Games questions. Embarrassingly, I misidentified Doom as Quake because I had a brain fart about what years I was in college. However, I correctly answered a question with "Viagra" after the words "What medicine..." Also, I maintain that 90% of the "Fad" questions have nothing to do with actual fads.
Things I learned: There is a Tube of the Year award. Awarded by the Tube Council. In 2004, Skippy won it for squeezable peanut butter.
I'm sure I learned other things, but that seemed like the most important at the time.
Played volleyball 3 days this week. Thursday was both the worst (my beach league team is HORRIBLE) and the best (playing indoor 3s with the better players from the Monday group). I suspect I am going to be very sore tomorrow.
Finally caught up on f-list and reading list. Stopped watching a bunch of comms that I've just been skipping past. Mostly caught up. Still haven't read the Fandom Secrets posts, and haven't decided if I want to.
Answered a bunch of help requests at LiveJournal support, including a couple where I identified a previously-unknown bug. Figuring things out made me feel very smart, on top of the general helpfulness. Also, am glad that I have never pursued a career in IT.
Watched SYTYCD, without any of the painfully bad auditions, though I did spend a fair amount of time sort of yelling at the screen. Am very much looking forward to seeing actual routines next week.
Found a job I actually want, and applied for it.
And, other stuff:
Smallfandomfest is still going strong, not that I've even claimed a prompt yet. Porn Battle starts Sunday.
ETA: one of the other answers was Chaplin and we convinced everyone that hadn't seen the Sherlock Holmes trailer that they had to go watch it OMGRIGHTNOW. Let's see, what else was fun. I identified Danny Bonaduce as Barry Williams's Celebrity Boxing opponent from logic rather than actual knowledge or seeing his picture on screen.
