When I was in high school, I used to collect Happy Meal/Kid's Meal toys, particularly of the Disney animated movie variety. I've got a bunch of Lion King toys in a box, somewhere. I'm over it now, mostly, though I do tend to order kid's meals from Burger King still, so that I'm not tempted to get a giant order of fries. The Cat always needs new things to knock off of shelves.

But, the universe wants me to have plastic toys. I am now the (proud?) owner of a plastic, light-up Star Trek badge thing from a box of Frosted Mini-Wheats because my mother is trying to eat healthier. (My mother has apparently not seen how much sugar they put on those.) If the back of the box is to be believed, it's the Engineering one. I think when you press the button, a light shines out of the peak that is intended to look like you're being beamed up.

If I were a less lazy person, I'd find my camera and take a picture. Instead, I will link to the Fast Food and Cereal Premiums category on eBay, search term: Star Trek

I don't remember prizes from cereal boxes from when I was a kid. Maybe I didn't eat as much cereal as I thought.

They don't appear to have those Star Trek badges in our cereal here in Canada, and I'm actually put out. :-P

I remember crappy rings and stickers. Nothing as cool as that! :D
