horrible timing
Jul. 20th, 2009 11:46 pmI'm traveling - I always, always, always think that has 2 L's - tomorrow. I usually end up spending the time in airports writing comment-length-porn from my phone. I wish I could be bothered to write longhand, and use the time to work on longer things, but it just seems so wasteful.
My dad ran into a wall, with his head, somehow at volleyball tonight. I'm not sure quite what happened, as I haven't talked to him yet, but I imagine there was tripping involved, because he's usually pretty cautious. The walls are all less than 2 feet from the court boundaries. My mom went to go get him from the hospital, and dropped me off at the Y on the way to drive his car back to the house. I can't stand driving my dad's car. Or SUVs in general, really. They're not back yet, which is to be expected with typical emergency room wait times if you're not about to die, and apparently he needs stitches somewhere on his face, and my mother was prepared to make a big deal about having a plastic surgeon type person do it rather than whoever happens to be on duty in the ER.
And because I am a horrible person, I will complain that of course this happened at about a quarter to 10, in the midst of Torchwood. Which I wasn't watching, I was recording it to watch in my boredom sometime this week, but it's the principle of the thing. As if a trip to the ER the day before I leave town wasn't bad enough, it was the only time during the day that I was doing something that could be called time-sensitive in the vaguest possible sense. I spent the rest of the day lazing, doing laundry, or poking listlessly at support requests.
Also, watched the second season of Slings and Arrows, which I liked a lot better after all the transitional stuff in the first episode was over. I'm not quite as rapturous as I was about season 1 (and I'm sleepy now, so I'm not all that excited about anything), but it was still definitely worth watching.
