I am already tired of the mics on the tap shoes.

I am already tired of the Paula Abdul chair.

Travis is in the audience! and Dave Scott!

I don't approve of this judge-cut first week craziness. There's no reason they couldn't do voting and have judges make a decision Wednesday morning. The judges just got to pick whoever they wanted to make up the top 20.

Channing and Phillip - Channing is not a natural performer, but she totally knocked my socks off with her jive. But man, were their transitions rough.

Ashleigh and Jakob - oh, god, who gave Ashleigh the sultry role? I was so distracted by my dislike of her that I totally ignored Jakob. This was, apparently, a mistake on my part? Since everyone loves him...

"Johnny 5 is alive!" - I bet 80% of the audience is too young to get that reference. Oh, Cat. I love you.

Ariana and Peter - Oddly, I loved the piece (even with the overly-literal costumes. Good God, y'all.) since I am usually so, so over Tabitha and Napoleon. Too bad they didn't dance up to its potential.

Russell and Noelle - seriously, how is it possible that these people don't know the styles. How could you not watch the show? I am so excited for Russell. I really hope Noelle goes home soon if she recovers. Or, you know, just leaves. If only because I am still annoyed about her and Molly being Best Friends after 4 days.

Bianca and Victor - how much do I love Travis's choreography? \o/ THIS MUCH. I am always amazed the uniqueness of the partnering. Bianca reminds me a little of Heidi being thrown in over her head in contemporary, but she's already 10x more genuine in it.

Karen and Kevin - choreographing to the Glee soundtrack? really? "For those of you who know me, that's not usually my thing." Much ♥ Adam Shankman

Ellenore and Ryan - I want to like this, I really did. I want to like Sonia. Avant Garde off-off-broadway art school, what? Ryan seems as fakey to me as his wife does, but bless him for trying. Urgh. I am totally with Nigel on having no idea what to say about the routine, because for all I know they danced it precisely how she told them to.

Pauline and Brandon - OH MY GOD HOW PRECIOUS ARE THEY? Aw, I love the cute waltzes. It's like a prom picture. Haha, and I typed that like 10 seconds before Nigel called them a prom couple as a critique.

Kathryn and Legacy - So, yeah, Dave Scott! Katheryn's from Georgia and, like, everyone in Georgia is cheerleader, or on dance team, or whatever, at some point, so I am not at all surprised how quickly she got into the style. Mary sort of matches the cave theme with the pseudo-animal-print top. Legacy is such a cliche. He even transitioned from one cliche to another, from the cocky street kid to the cocky street kid with hidden artistic pain, so... I am so glad they didn't let Katheryn talk.

I was weirdly excited for Mollee and Nathan's disco before they went to commercial. Aaand then I was over it by the time Molly opened her mouth. Fabulous lifts, but Doriana needs to stop pushing up the tempo. That was a hot mess. Nathan's rocking the Elvis hair with the lounge suit, though.

With Ariana, Pauline, Russell and Brendon, the elimination was going to suck no matter what. I'm surprised to not see Peter there. I have a feeling that Nigel's YAY TAP cancelled out his YAY KRUMP on that one. It also sucks that they had to put the two guys with super-new partners in the bottom two. Yes, I understand why, but it's a sketchy start to the season, even if its nice that there are so many really, really talented dancers. But seriously? neither of the tap guys in the bottom two?
