Taught my phone to spell pastrami today. Less fun, but more suitable for polite company.

the-sdcc-god-hates-fags-counterprotest-had-the-best-signs-ever
The Westboro Baptist Church — you know, the God Hates Fags people — came to Comic Con. And met with people waving signs saying "All Glory To The Hypnotoad" and "God Hates Sentries." Rock on.

There was a high speed chase on the highway today, complete with 15 police cars from three different jurisdictions, that ended (without serious injury) a couple hundred feet from my house. Good times.
I hope you all watched SYTYCD last night, just for the two minutes of DJ Smart's solo last night. If not, go watch it now. Seriously. If I remember correctly, he's the guy who Mia visited in New York to tell him he wasn't going to be on the show? The one who had a leg injury of some sort in Vegas? (and also wore a really distracting red/orange unitard at one point, if memory serves?)

Seriously, go watch it. Not just because it's an amazing solo, because it is, but I literally can't even imagine having that level of strength and flexibility combined. A. Maz. Ing.

Uh, and some other stuff happened:

The theme for this week is I hate everyone from the producers on down, or at least I hate enough of them so that it's keeping emotionally distanced from the routines, because I just didn't get it this week.

Lauren totally killed, and I don't think I have anything more to say about that.

I couldn't watch Jose and Adechike's Paso, so I have no idea what happened there, but let's just assume I hated it, because I hated the ten seconds I watched before I hit the fast forward button.

I still haven't seen the video package for Jose and Allison's contemporary, so I'm not 100% sure what the story was. I'm ready for him to go home. I'd take 30 seconds of random Dominic from during Pitbull's performance over anything Jose's done in the past two weeks. If he makes it to top three, which is to say if the judges put him through again, because they're making all the elimination decisions, I will pitch a fit.

(Okay, I will pitch a fit in my house, and possibly write a very strongly-worded blog comment. Beware, SYTYCD!)

Comfort and Adechike's hip hop was totally derivative of the routine they did for Chelsea and Mark to Bleeding Love. Also, I was distracted by Comfort's super-buff arms.
Why were they crying? WHY WERE THEY CRYING? So, in conclusion, I am heartless.

Also: "If Wesley Snipes could dance." Seriously? He's the pinnacle of acting that you pull out for your example? Fail.

Thank you Nigel for mentioning Bleeding Love even if you didn't see the similarities. That is the only thing I am thanking Nigel for this week, but more on that later.

It's probably not fair to say that I hate when I recognize Tabitha and Napoleon's choreography, because I love Wade Robson's vocabulary when I recognize it. Still hate them, though.

Uh, other people danced? I think Kent (and Twitch) did an admirable job of keeping up in the stepping, and I'm thrilled that they brought it in, but now I really wish they'd been able to bring in a step team - any step team - to perform on a results show. Dear Nigel: Yes, whoever it is in Chicago is probably awesome, but I bet there's also a quality team within an hour's drive of your studio.

Robert is a very good dancer, and I am sure he will have a lovely career, but he is not a winner. Sorry, dude.

Things wot I read on the interwebs: Rumor has it that Billy wasn't cleared to dance until 3 hours before the live show, which wasn't enough time for him to put in a competitive performance. I still trust him to make his own decisions about when he can dance, and I think he's gifted enough that he needs to keep his career in mind over winning this show. Especially since there's no way he's going to win: it's going to be Kent (or maybe Lauren, if I vote 100,000 times).

Still, Nigel totally threw him under the bus, both last night with his comments during the performance show, and tonight with whatever the hell that was about Billy setting a precedent. Well, Nigel, if you hadn't set a precedent last season by saying he could try out again when he didn't make it to the live shows, you wouldn't have this problem. If they keep injuring people out and letting them come back, this show is going to get very stale. Why not just let all 10-20 live show contestants come back again and again until they win.

My LOL moment of last night: When Nigel said that the top guy and girl from season 6 would be on the tour, and he asked who remembered who the top boy of the season was. 1) Uh, you mean the winner, Nigel? and 2) No, I didn't. I wish they'd invite Jeanine and Evan to come along, but there's no neat way to do the memorable performances with a mishmash of seasons like that.

Also, someone pointed out that Jose's been more-or-less absent from the group routines on results night. Good catch. What's up with that, producers?

I am with you 100% on everything and I want to kill Nigel.

Did you see AdiChike's face when they announced they were keeping everybody? I mean, he gets voted in and now he has just as high a chance of going home next week.

I'm so done with Robert! Whatever the judges see, I swear to god it doesn't come across onscreen, and I'm sick of them giving him a pass. Also, yeah, Jose's ready to go, and he really should go, and they should have let him go.

ARG.

Also, Lauren is amazing, and I want her to win too (though sadly, I like Kent too).

I like Napoleon and Tabitha well enough(tho not their nickname which I keep having to remind myself is meant to be in Spanish), and I like AdeChike, but yeah, it was pretty much Bleeding Love again. With the m/f roles reversed.

Comfort has gotten hot, though.

Dear Nigel: Yes, whoever it is in Chicago is probably awesome, but I bet there's also a quality team within an hour's drive of your studio.

Seriously. They could transport in a college team. A group stepping routine would be awesome. (Kent bouncing up and down didn't quite do it for me, idek.)

And! Lauren! I love Lauren.

I'm pretty sure, yeah. Nap y Tabs, where y = and. But I never remember right away.
