Leverage - 1x06 "The Stork Job"
Jan. 10th, 2009 03:56 pmIt took me a while to appreciate all of the characters, but after 'The Stork Job' -
OH MY GOD, y'all! I'm resisting the urge to picspam, but just barely.
1) Nate and Sophie. I'm not really sure that I buy Nate/Sophie yet, but bless the writers for keeping up with it. Hutton's just got a huge emotional range to cover with Nate, on top of his over-the-top personas, and I can buy Nate suppressing his pain for the greater good, (and obv. people can still have happy times with unhappy pasts) but their flirtation just seems too flip sometimes.
2) Hooray for Sophie's double-negative successful acting, particularly since Nate was using his knowledge of Sophie's desperation to trap Irina.
3) Eliot. No, he didn't do anything particularly squee-worthy, but he could have!
4) BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY - how absolutely precious was Alec and Parker's foster-care bonding? This may have been (?) the first indication that Parker knows she's batshit crazy, instead of just being a gleeful, if apparently manageable, sociopath. I mean, I love her quirks, and I'm sure they'll still be there, but I seriously wanted to get up and hug the TV.
Parker - "No. We put these kids in the system, and odds are? They're gonna... turn out like me"
Alec - "I like the way you turned out."
Oh, Alec. You're sweet, but don't lie. Remember the part where she STABBED SOMEONE with A FORK at a PARTY before DIVING OFF THE BALCONY the other day? No, I don't care that he was a bad guy, that was not on.
