In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator.

I wish I could write shorter things. I would write more of them! I love longfic, and occasionally have fic ideas that can only be served by longfic, but I really love scenes - slice of life, five things, all that stuff, and some of what I'm happiest with of what I've written are things that feel unresolved. Hopeful, almost always, but open-ended.

four stories by meeeee )
healingmirth: Abby from NCIS looking skeptical (abby)
Title: more than postcards
Characters/Pairing: Abby Sciuto(NCIS)/Eliot Spencer(Leverage) implied
Rating: G
Word Count: 500
Author's note: written for cliche bingo - Journeys and Quests. Set about a year ago, ~S1 Leverage and ~S5 NCIS
This sort of goes with the meet-cute, playtime and surprise for [livejournal.com profile] comment_fic. Unbeta'd, but obsessively read-through.

Also - if anyone knows of a community that might like to see this sort of thing, let me know. I haven't bothered posting any of the other bits elsewhere.

healingmirth: Matt Farrell - "a lot rattling around up there" (rattle)
Today's plan: file my state and federal income tax returns

Today's actual activities: futzing around with photoshop and writing comment_fic for a random-like-whoa pairing.

In my defense, it's raining, so I really can't be expected to accomplish anything.

NCIS/Leverage, Abby Sciuto/Eliot Spencer, playtime

Oh, also!

What Dire Offence by Miriam Heddy. Snape/Harry, post-war but not DH-compliant.

I haven't read any Snape/Harry with a plot in a while, so I was doubly happy to stumble upon this. Features a great disgruntled post-hero Harry, and some fantabulous antagonistic banter.

NCIS/Leverage, Abby Scuito/Eliot Spencer, surprise

- It has been so long since I wrote more than a couple lines of anything vaguely het, that I wrote the whole thing without referring to anyone by name. Such a novelty to be able to use pronouns and have them only refer to one person! Of course, then I decided it was creepy and added in Abby's name, but I sort of like not using Eliot's

I sort of checked out of Leverage around episode 7, after being massively confused by the screwed-up character development, but when I saw that the rebroadcast was in a different order, I decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, I got distracted by people arriving at the beginning of the 12 Step Job, and never really picked up the thread of the episode, and gave up again. (Also, realized I wasn't going to watch the David Job episodes because of the Presidents address tonight, so it seemed pointless to try to plow through the rest. Oh well.)

Episodes I did manage to watch today, for reference cut for tl;dr, and conceivably, spoilers )

And after 5 hours, more or less, the thing I came away with was that The Juror #6 Job is all Star Trek, all the time, featuring Data (Brent Spiner) and Quark (Armin Shimerman). Also, hello Lauren Holly! Good to see that you're still getting the overbearing bitch roles.

And speaking of Lauren Holly, I tuned in to NCIS for the first time in two seasons so as to have the TV already on at 9 for the address. I think I've seen all the episodes, or close enough, through the end of season 4, and apparently things have happened since then. Who knew?

This is also the first episode I've watched since tearing through a bunch of Gibbs/DiNozzo fic (and some misc other stuff, but it was all early-season with various and sundry outdated references to canon). My (everyone's?) favorite part of their dynamic is Gibbs being protective of his people and Tony being more capable than what he projects, and there really wasn't much of either in this episode but oh, was there other awesomeness fodder. including the fact that one of the lyrics to the soundtrack song was 'I'm not straight...'  )

So, this is the episode that all the promotional clips were pulled from. Time for another round of connect-the-dots characterization. Read more... )

And... Lauren Graham is in Guys and Dolls? ...the hell?

Plot, blah blah blah. Nate and Sophie, blah blah blah. Hi, Sara Rue! However, the really important things:

First, I'm really digging the sort-of-samurai half-ponytail (or, you know, unwashed and greasy cause he's a misfit. whatever. not flat-ironed) Eliot was rocking in the opening scene. I have the sudden urge to determine the original episode order based on Eliot's hair.

Second, I have microwaved a lot - A LOT - of hot pockets in my life, and I have never managed to not have it explode all over the microwave. Therefore, Alec is my new hero.

Third, for the Horde!

I continue to be bewildered by characterization across the episodes in the order they're airing them.

It took me a while to appreciate all of the characters, but after 'The Stork Job' -

OH MY GOD, y'all! I'm resisting the urge to picspam, but just barely.

how do I love this show? let me count the ways )
