(no subject)

It is a little weird to me that "these people who live near me are good at a thing" is a reason to be excited and to be a fan. That's not to say I don't do it, I just don't understand what the mechanism is.

That said, I have been watching a lot of the Little League world series. Which is like the ultimately weird version of sports fandom, because there is almost no continuity in teams year over year.

I had to stop watching the elimination games though, mostly because of the commentators. I get that their job is to fill dead air, but oh my god, stop talking about the mistake that the 12 year old boy made four innings ago.

Suits!

I think I have mentioned, I am totally over the premise of Suits. But I really enjoy individual episodes, and the non-fraud-related arcs that they write, and much of their treatment of many of the supporting characters.

I really like the flashback episodes. I was particularly struck, last night, by how Harvey and Donna authentically seemed ten years younger. Acting! (and makeup and styling, clearly) Well done!

Mike, not so much. He's supposed to be like 31? 32? Not sure how I didn't know that, but its likely that I've been warped by too many years of twentysomethings playing high school kids. Although I guess it highlights how much of a fuckup he was in the intervening years.
