I was going to do 20 things about me, stolen from that other meme's intro, since today (like most days!) remains questionless, but I really need to do a bit of housecleaning, so. As I wander around, putting things away, vacuuming, I'm coming back to this.

I just switched to the rich text editor for I think the first time ever on dw, because I wanted to do an ordered list and couldn't quite be bothered to type the extra characters to code it myself.

  1. I love my couch. Love, love, love. This has been a total revelation to my adult life. Growing up, we had both a living room and a family room (even in the first, tiny house. No idea why.) and I still can not tell you which was named which (much like I can never remember whether the tornado warning or the tornado watch means a tornado has actually been sighted) Both the living and family rooms were equipped with furniture that was perfectly adequate for sitting, but I wouldn't have called any of it comfortable. As an adult, this is my fourth sofa, and I have no idea why it took me this long to get it right.

  2. I always have Bisquick in my pantry, and go through a largish box fairly regularly. Pancakes mostly, some biscuits, much more rarely as a casserole or dessert topping

  3. I also have the same bottle of Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce in my pantry that I've had for... possibly my whole post college-life. It seems okay, still? It exists exclusively for being added to crab dip that I make maybe once a year.

  4. 2 1/2 pieces of cat furniture. One cat. The great triumph of the last month is I figured out a place to put one of the pieces so that it's not in my way and the cat will actually sit on it.

  5. All of my school yearbooks are on the bookshelf in my living room, along with most of my textbooks, cookbooks, and...I'm not actually sure what else without looking. The living room bookshelf is pretty static. I've referred to one of my high school yearbooks several times this year when I or someone I know has run into a classmate

  6. Until recently, I had exactly one houseplant, which was introduced as Cuban Oregano, and may very well be this thing but doesn't really look like the pictures. I now have two houseplants, because a branch broke off when I repotted recently, and I managed to get it to root in some water. My previous gift plant was a miniature daffodil that my cat was desperate to chew on, which is a problem because they're supposed to be toxic. I am really bad at plants.

  7. There's a playstation PS2 downstairs, and a pad for Dance Dance Revolution because my two favorite console games are PS2 games. Need for Speed Underground 2, and DDR Supernova. Have I played either of them this year? Nope.

  8. Also downstairs, my college collection of VHS tapes. Like, uh. Ever After. The Breakfast Club. Sliding Doors. Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Recently added to that are a whoooole bunch of VHS tapes from my parents house that I want to rip because I've become a digital hoarder.

  9. I have one fewer bathroom mirror than I probably should, because the light fixture in my bathroom really doesn't line up with the faucet, and I refuse to permanently install a mirror until I fix it. It's been 3 years.

  10. It really bugs me that my Christmas lights don't match my neighbors'. Like, really bugs me. Not enough to try coordinating with them, though, because then one or the other of us would be stuck with perfectly adequate outdoor lights with no place to put them up.

Actually, I think ten. Ten's good.
