I did not need a new fandom. Just when I thought I had gotten Due South enough out of my system to function like a normal person, or at least watch tv instead of reading fic, you had to throw Harry Potter/Severus Snape in front of me. I don't even like Harry Potter - I haven't even read all of the books!

Highlights so far:

Cambiare Podentes: Invocare and Cambiare Podentes: Madurarae completely consumed 3 days. 620,000 words. I stopped to sleep a couple times. I'm not 100% sure that I stopped to eat.

Anything by Aucta Sinistra particularly Scratch and its two sequels. Charmingly crafted, precise and consistent character voices, and chock full of romance and humor and depth of feeling.

Harry unclenched his chattering teeth long enough to say, “I want my cat back.”

Snape half-turned. “Accio cat!”

Like a rushing train, a yowl shot toward them in advance of a flying hank of grey fur. Snape caught Scratch, held him firmly until the animal stopped struggling, realized he wasn’t being hurt, and meowed up at Snape in protest.

Harry took a step forward, but didn’t reach for the cat. “I was kidding.” He swiped the rain out of his face, pointlessly, and stared at Snape.

Snape sighed. “Oh for god’s sake, come in.”

So Lonely Without Me. - Snape and Harry, locked up together. I love the whole story, but the last chapter takes something of a left turn in tone (for a completely logical reason), and it's by far my favorite part.

Dumbledore's Folly Who doesn't love a good old-fashioned courting ritual?
