Finally got around to reading Dark Chocolate and its sequel, White Chocolate by Dianann.

In the opening paragraphs of the first story, Draco and the Slytherin 7th years plot against Harry as part of their annual prank, setting him up as a very special apprentice to Snape in order to knock him down. Features a realistically dark Harry struggling with the fallout from the war and getting ready for the rest of his life, and his growing emotional dependence on Snape as the Slytherins' plans play out.

Usually the stuff tagged unread at the bottom of my list is still there for a reason, like I got 3 paragraphs in and gave up, so it was a lovely surprise to find this pair of stories as awesome as the recs said it was. Definitely give yourself time to read the whole thing unless you're one of those people who can set down a story you're invested in. I'm sure not.

Another one of those stories where Snape survives the war and Harry is legally responsible for him, but it's a good one.

Eighth year by Meri

Harry and others go back for an 8th year at Hogwarts to make up time lost due to the war. He and Snape enter into a formal courtship for interhouse PR. Love the premise and the writing, great characters. There's a B-plot that isn't resolved in the story, and it seems like there are a few bits missing, but is still a great fun read as is.
