Clearing out my "rec_this" tag.

Due South - See The Sky
Ray Kowalski is a disillusioned cop. His partner and best friend is sleeping with his ex-wife, his job sucks, and the best thing in his life is a deaf half-wolf. Enter Fraser, the ex-Mountie who screwed over his best friend a couple of years before, a man who Ray shouldn't even be talking to, let alone trying to date... A story about friendship, betrayal, falling in love and trying to figure out where you belong.

I'm trying to ration out the dsC6D Big Bang stories, so this rec also serves to say OMG STORIES YAY for the ones that I haven't read yet, but you totally should.

Star Trek - four reasons why you shouldn't let your best friend talk you into having sex, and one reason why you should. Kirk/McCoy, R.

It's written in second person, and I didn't even notice, consciously, until 3/4 of the way through. This is, I think, the highest compliment I have ever paid to something written in second person, because I have read some truly awful stuff and usually that first you makes me twitch.

X-Men - Heal Thyself - It's Beast/Gambit porn. I don't even know what to do with that, and the language is a little over-the-top at times, but they're both so lonely, even when they're in the same room engaging in decidedly-not-alone behaviors, and it's sort of awesome.

My "I am not reading in [whatever] fandom" rules are fantastically weak when it comes to AU.

I Have Been All Things Unholy - My Chemical Romance, by way of Stigmata. It's a series - three epic stories, and I haven't actually finished the second one yet, but I got to a bit that I wanted to quote, so I'm just going to rec it now. The first story is nearly gen, but with longing.

Gerard said, "Frankie!" in a horrified voice, and Frank rolled his eyes and said, "Oh, it's all right for you to get paid for fighting evil in God's name, but not us?"

Gerard said, "It's not the same," and then everyone was giving their opinions and raising their voices, and people were starting to look, it was sort of embarrassing. Gerard said, "I just wish there was a sign that this was the right thing to do," and then they were interrupted by someone clearing their throat.

"Excuse me," said the tall, dark-haired guy who was standing nearby, wearing a nice suit and a nervous expression. "Did you say that you fight evil?"

(Also: Conclusions Frank/Gerard (with background other ships) which made me make flaily hands of glee several times while reading it.)

Actually, not clearing out my rec_this tag after all, because I have porn battle recs, but for some reason I only have two of them tagged, so that'll have to wait.
