More to Love - okay, I don't have any sort of well-formed opinion on this, but I'd love to know if anyone else does.
So - its by the creators/producers/whatever of the Bachelor, but it's on Fox. I mean, at least they're not competing with 20 twigs, which is what I'd honestly expect from Fox. But... seriously. This is their own description. Who do they think their demographic for this is?
FOX is setting out to prove that love comes in all shapes and sizes with the new inspirational dating competition series MORE TO LOVE. Executive-produced by Mike Fleiss ("The Bachelor," "The Bachelorette"), the unscripted series follows a single average guy with a big waist and an even bigger heart as he romances several confident and secure plus-size women.

Each week, the husky hunk will wine and dine a group of curvy women to determine if they have more love to give or if they are truly more than he can handle. When the size of competition narrows, he will have to decide if one full-figured lady will become his true love.

"This is a dating show that sends the right message about embracing and loving yourself no matter your shape or size," said executive producer Mike Fleiss. "When you are comfortable with your own body, you can really allow yourself to be open to the possibility of finding the right person to love."

Iconic full-figured supermodel Emme will host MORE TO LOVE. A pioneer for plus-size women in the modeling industry, Emme became the first full-figured model to land a contract as a cosmetics company spokesperson when she signed with Revlon. Her career as a model, television personality, author, inspirational speaker and clothing designer promotes and exemplifies positive body image, self-esteem and self-acceptance.

And, in much happier news, Dancing!

So, are they rotating the choreographers through the audience? They're all in that same seat in front of those two girls. I wonder if that's because they don't want to spare the seats, or because the choreographers would rather watch from elsewhere. And, okay, I'm already done listening to Mary for the season.

Also, I am really not on board with the bandana/scarf thing that the costume designers are on this season. Is that this season's hot fashion accessory?

"Out the box with a bang" - "There's a certain divinity to your movement"
Randi and Evan - Jive - Louis Van Amstel! (Again!)
Very cute, good attitude, good-enough bounce... Evan's movements didn't look finished though, and his hands were kind of a mess I still love them, but I was disappointed in their performance. Randi did about what I expected, and out-danced Evan. I was expecting more breadth from Evan based on the bits of his performance in Vegas, and was certainly expecting more energy.

"You are modifiying your manipulation of movement"
Melissa and Ade - Jazz - Sonya Tayeh
Uh, they danced it well? I guess? I didn't see the story through most of it though, and I think that was distracting me from their technique. Maybe it was that I just wasn't getting the right dynamic from Melissa. I think that's my least favorite of Sonya's routines, but I still love them Melissa and Ade.

"The choreographer's fantasy has to become the dancer's reality" - "It was missing some nectar"
Caitlin and Jason - Hip-Hop - Shane Sparks
I didn't really buy the chemistry, and Caitlin wasn't down in it enough as much as I think she should've been. I thought Jason got it. They're still precious, I *like* them, but I didn't like the dancing, and it was definitely a step down from Bollywood. Maybe they should have panicked more. Jason seemed younger this week too, probably because he didn't follow Jonathan

"The primary focus of all obstacles is to induce labor so progression can be born."
Jeanette and Brandon - Disco - Doriana Sanchez
So, I sort of hate Brandon for mocking Jeanette's teeth, but that's beside the point I guess. Fun, great, fast - did something happen to Jeanette mid-routine? (before her stumble) she suddenly seemed a bit off. Other than that though, tough fast routine, and they did a great job.

"When you unfurl yourself, for everyone to see, no one can deny that." - "Asuka, there is a dominant submission that you have going on."
Asuka and Vitolio - Waltz - Louis Van Amstel
I feel like a horrible person saying this, but Vitolio's feet were sort of a train wreck, particularly in the second lift, like he was really struggling to move, and it really distracted me from what should have been a beautiful routine. From the reaction of the judges, apparently it was a beautiful routine, from the waist up. Asuka was gorgeous, and everything I would have expected. Maybe they just can't do wacky.

"Dancing is a language, and when you're challenged to work with different choreographers - your challenged to picked up their vernacular in a short amount of time"
Max and Kayle - Brian Friedman - Pop Jazz
Poor Max. That's a horrible costume. I also didn't love the song, but whatever. The routine was good, and I think they danced the steps well. I didn't see as much connection between them as I wanted on any level, much less the intricacy that I would've hoped for with them playing characters with different stories. I also didn't love Kayla as much as the judges did. I'm missing a spark from her, and I think that's keeping me from appreciating her technique.

"The fulcrum was even for me: emotion, technique, posture, athleticism... I thought it was bucc."
Jonathan and Karla - Contemporary - Stacey Tookey (hooray! SYTYCD Canada!)
Lovely routine - I'm loving Karla and Jonathan is... okay. They really needed that routine. I think if they'd gotten less awesome choreography, they would have been in trouble this week.

"A lack of confidence is the heaviest anchor you can put on your creativity and your art"
Phillip and Jeanine - Tango - Tony Meredith
Phillip's own lines in hold were horrible, not to mention the train wreck that was his frame. The part out of hold at the start wasn't bad, and the lifts weren't bad... He definitely needs to find a crispness of movement that he doesn't use in his own style. Jeanine did the best she could, under the circumstances.

"There was no synchronization to be had or found." "You gotta find the serenity withinside the chaos so you can settle into it."
Ashley and Kupono - Hip-hop - Shane Sparks
Oh, Kupono :( They have definitely won the interesting-concept lottery, and it's a shame that they didn't live up to this one. Shane had a rough night tonight.

Opening number by Mia Michaels tomorrow!

Also, I have Dreamwidth invite codes if people still need them.

Is that this season's hot fashion accessory?

Yes, actually. :)

I love the Lil C quotes, he's awesome. According to his twitter (and urban dictionary, having thought to look) it's bucc. Two c's. Don't ask me the etymology, heh.

Shane did indeed have a rough night. So did many of the dancers, holy cow.

Hee! Like Mary? She is so committed to the screaming thing. And the pepper train. According to the UD it's krump slang, though, so there might be more people than just him using it? Maybe?

I'm so bad at keeping up wit DW. *sigh* Do you have a LJ as well?

Anywho, I just got caught up and I was SHOCKED by who was sent home. I totally thought it would be Kapono and Caitlin. I love them both, but I thought they were the weakest dancers out there. Shows how much I know!

Sorry.

Yay! Added ya.

I've been getting overwhelmed by all the things I'm supposed to check on a daily basis, so some things just slip. :( I'm much better at keeping up with LJ... so yay! :D

With Kupono, I've never thought they actually liked him. It sounded like they were not impressed because he comes off too "feminine". They liked that he cut his hair (which is sad because I loved his floppy hair) and even said that he was more masculine, but I don't think they are completely won over.

I'm really liking this show! This is the first season I've followed it and the only thing I'm annoyed with is Mary. O_o
