So, I had a couple days worth of errands and meetings and Things to Do around my old apartment. Obviously the solution was to schedule that trip around concerts that I might want to go to. Even though the tours are going to be up here, like, next week.

It has been a loooooong time since I've been to see a band live, and longer than that since I've been to a show with a mosh pit. I don't have the faintest idea what the cool kids are calling it these days, but this was the first show I'd ever been to that had people slam-dancing rather than doing the kind of running-around/jumping/body-checking that I'm used to seeing in pits. I am completely at a loss for who thinks that windmilling your fists around is a good idea. Nothing that is a bit on The Simpsons is a good idea in real life.

The best part is that it was an all-ages show, and the headlining band had like 500 teenage girls there bouncing around and singing along.

Actually, the best part was sort of how there were only 10 guys in the pit, which really wasn't enough to sustain it, so it was sort of AAAAAAAARRRRGGGHHH!!!!1! FLAIL!! *pant* *wheeze* *pace* AAAAAAAAHHHHHH.

But mainly the point of this post is: "Hi! I'm back!"

I turned in my cable box and modem and cancelled the service to my apartment, finally. It's better to go back to there with the expectation of no internet than to be taunted by the amazingly slow service. Seriously, half a step up from dial-up. I tested. So, so bad.

So now I'm going to go catch the rest of the way up with Sons of Anarchy and SYTYCD Canada, and The Daily Show from this week, and whatever else I couldn't get the internet to cough up while I was stuck in Slowville.
