The Gracepoint trailer looks pretty much like a shot-for-shot duplication of the opening scenes in Broadchurch, very much aided by the presence of David Tennant and that the actress playing the mother here has a very similar appearance, or at least styling, to how Jodie Whittaker looked. I wasn't super excited to watch it to begin with, but now I'm even less so.

I'm trying to think whether I've seen enough of both the US and UK versions of any thing that's been remade here. Queer as Folk, The Office, Coupling, Shameless...? Only one or the other for all those.

I found basically everything about Broadchurch really satisfying, and while I'd be up for exploring the same type of story within the US culture and media context, the idea of just delivering the same plot points again, but this time in American accents, just leaves me so, so bored. No matter how prettily executed.

Suits is back tomorrow! I actually found the back half of last season really satisfying, and I can't remember whether I made it back here to say that. White Collar still sits on my DVR unwatched, mocking me every time I scroll down that far. I'm not sure it has anything to offer me. Suits, though, I'm excited to see go new places, and I actually like how they are treating the whole ensemble, and I'd watch Zeljko Ivanek in almost anything, so I hope against hope that he pops up some more.

Haven't watched the Turn finale yet. Had sort of forgotten about it, if I'm honest. Not a great sign.

The endless reruns of NCIS are on season four this week, AKA the one where Tony is constantly deceiving everyone on the team, and it's reminding me of how that was basically my bulletproof narrative kink in that fandom, with its cousin, hiding an illness or injury.

Which now strikes me as odd, because it's fairly close to everything I started to hate about White Collar. And it's not like Matt Bomer isn't capable of selling me on his being conflicted and feeling guilty, and feeling like he needs to look out for himself because no one else will.

Suits is back June 11, and I still haven't watched the back half of the last season. The battle of Gina vs. OH MY GOD, I CAN NO LONGER SUSPEND MY DISBELIEF continues.
