American Idol! Rock week! OMG! STYX! Renegade! I seriously did a little dance when Seacrest announced the song.
The first concert I went to (without my parents - I'm not proud, I'll admit that my mom and I went to see the Monkees in concert when they released that album in the 80s) was Styx and Kansas after my freshman year in college. Despite the fact that I didn't know the first thing about either band. A friend from my house asked if I wanted to go, I think mostly because I was the only person from school who lived within 4 hours of him back home. I went out and bought their two greatest hits CDs, because I didn't want to admit that I didn't know their music. I'm not sure I'd even heard of the band. I'm still not, like, a huge fan of Styx, but I totally love, love, love rock songs with bits of a capella harmonies. The end of Love in an Elevator is one of my favorite things ever. I'm weak.
I'm still fangirling Kris Allen so much, it's embarrassing. (and my brain is totally convinced that embarrassing has one R. I can't remember the last time I typed it correctly, and I seem to be using it a lot lately.)
And for once, I completely and totally understood and agree with what Paula said - his "artistic imprint" on the song was fantastic, even if none of the other judges liked it.
Simon's comment about eating ice made from mineral water reminded me - I saw someone jogging, for real jogging in running clothes and sneakers - with a bottle of Perrier the other day.
Speaking of fangirling people (metaphorically... so far) half my age. Mark Ballas! I had something to say, but then I went looking for links, and have forgotten what it was. So instead, have a video from his horrible pop band with Derek Hough.
( cutesy video for the Ballas Hough band's song 'Do you Love Me' - featuring pretty much everyone from Dancing with the Stars )
Also, just saw a promo for House that makes me never want to watch it again. I have no idea what's happened the past two seasons, and now i totally don't want to, if that is what it leads to.
And because I haven't mentioned it in at least 7 days, am still so excited for the sneak preview or whatever of Glee that I can hardly stand it. And then, of course, there's a wait of 2+ months until the fall premiere. *melodramatic sigh*
