ionthesparrow is also the author of the Teen Wolf Written Works series, which I remember really liking all of, but I don't actually remember what happened to Derek and Stiles (and Lydia and everyone else) in the first two parts after reading the unexpected awesomeness of the Allison/Lydia third part.

In the interest of my ever being a productive member of society again, I really need Teen Wolf fen to stop producing stuff like this. And here we have a prime example of how many people (like me, obvs.) are just getting started, argh.

If you are desperately curious as to what I've been reading, I'm bookmarking everything on my Ao3 account, and instead of duplicating that, I'm just going to highlight a few stories that I wish were getting more attention.

This first one's outside the cut, because I really, really, really wish more people would read it and tell the author it's fabulous. It's about as close as you can get to a five-minute fandom, and you can google book about 70% of the script for the scene, and pick up the rest on youtube. (There are many versions on youtube, bless them all for filming their efforts, that's one of the better ones, though perhaps not the best.)

If you ever believe anything that I have posted in this journal, believe me when I say that I am delighted - DELIGHTED - and I do not use that word... uh... lightly. Anyway. Very much enamored of the stories that I received for Yuletide. I can't decide where to go next in the archive, because while I am sure there are hundreds if not thousands of stories that I could enjoy with a minute on wikipedia to look up the character names, this stories are MINE from canons that are dear to my heart for various and sundry reasons, and this is definitely luck rather than anything I have ever done to deserve them or will ever do to be worthy of the blessing.

Seriously. I am that happy.

I am not a hockey fan. I've never lived in a community with the critical mass of interest, and while I went to a few of our games in high school, I can't remember why. I can only imagine that one of us had a crush on someone on the team.

I haven't managed to read all of this article yet, both because it is long, and I am at work, and because it's making me more sad with every sentence.

That said, also read some hockey RPF last week, and found a story from last year's RPF big bang, team Canada at the Vancouver Olympics (remember that month when winter games RPF took over fandom? Good times.) that is filled with such love for the sport that it almost makes me forget how utterly useless I find watching hockey on TV to be:

going up flying, going home (master post) (Sidney Crosby/Jonathan Toews, author warns for "explicit sexual activity, very mild breathplay, cutting, scarification, violence of the hockey-related sort")

I don't have anything even vaguely approaching an appropriate icon, so therefore, uh... Logan => Canada => hockey => angst => Logan...

"This City" or something? There's a lot of predictable rhymes. And some dude rapping, with much more interesting word choice. So basically like every other pop song.

khaleesian is mostly (only?) known for her TFATF fic, and I really enjoyed her attention to detail applied to something other than cars, cause the car stuff is really lost on me. (ETA also on Ao3.)

I scrolled past a lot of stuff that I could have read, like all of the Firefly fics, and others that I'm sure I am forgetting but will hopefully find at some point this week. These are just the ones I pulled from my recent comments page. I feel like there was a Darwin/Havok one, and maybe some TSN that I'm missing here. Oh, well. In mostly chronological order!

Author's Notes: This story came from loverly's prompt on inception_kink for an Inception/Hawaii 5-0 crossover, "Arthur is Steve's brother." I genuinely thought, when I answered this prompt, that it was going to be an amusing one-off crossover that would take me an afternoon to write. 27,000 words later, I was clearly, flatly wrong.

They were working a simple bait-and-extract, pulling corporate espionage on one company and feeding it to a competitor, when Arthur got a phone call.

My note: I've only seen one episode of Hawaii 5-0 (I am never sure whether the new one is the letter or the number) but I have read a fair amount of fic, and this is fabulous on many more levels than I can conjure words to explain at the moment. I would read a million words of this Eames's life.

My note:

airgiodslv is one of those authors who I'd follow anywhere, except for the part where I've never friended the journal, and I'm not actually in bandom, and so every month or so I think to go wander by. This is not a system I recommend, and someday I may get over myself about it.

Anyway! Awesomeness abounds. Including many more characters than the header indicates, but the focus is on those three. Go read. ( this isn't so much a spoiler for the fic, but it's a spoiler for part of the premise, which the author chose to spoiler-text in the original post on lj )

Also, I am watching Flashpoint on Netflix. I'm just past the start of Season 3 (episode 33 according to the queue), but I am not convinced that it is actually Season 3 based on some comments about spoilery events I will not mention. It is perhaps Season 3 in the US but something else in Canada?

I went back to look at my WIP meme entry from November of last year, and I'd forgotten how much I like some of those stories. I've only finished one of them, and I'm pretty sure that I have at least 5 new snippety files that aren't on that list. I'm travelling later this week, so maybe I'll actually write something. Feel free to tell me if you have any suggestions. Blargh.

I uploaded my Yuletide story, in the server peace and quiet of the early morning east coast US, and then like magic, there was fabulous GK fic where they're all angels, sort of to reward me.

Also, yesterday, Sometimes ice cream is just ice cream, Tunny/Will and Johnny.

There were other things that were awesome this week, like random old Sports Night fic, some of which I was rereading and some of which was new to me, but wow am I about to be late for work.
